EYFS

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) applies to children from birth to the end of the Reception year. Our children, join the Reception class in the year that they turn five years old. In partnership with parents and carers we enable the children to begin the process of becoming active learners for life.

The Early Years Foundation Stage is based upon four principles, these are the foundation of our provision and in all areas of our curriculum:

A unique child – Every child is a unique child who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.

Positive relationships – Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships.

Enabling environments – Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and carers.

Learning and developing – Children develop and learn in different ways. The statutory framework covers the education and care of all children in early years provision, including children with special educational needs and disabilities
