Weekly home learning – expected

Each week, we ask children to practice the fundamentals of our core subjects to support their learning in class.

• Read at least four times a week.
• Practise number facts knowledge on Times Table Rockstars.
• Practise spelling words being explored in class that week on Spelling Shed. These are not tested. Instead, we want to see children apply these words in their writing in lessons when appropriate. We will however be having occasional spelling tests to revisit the words they have learned in the term to ensure they are familiar with the SATs spelling test format.

Termly home learning – optional

Each term, we will provide a menu of 3 optional projects which link to our learning for your child to choose one from and work on at home. They will have an opportunity to share their project in class in the first week back of the following term.  These projects are completely optional and are offered as an opportunity to apply/develop knowledge of the subjects they are learning about and to get creative at home.

Each class will provide one possible project from each area:

• ART/D&T
• SCIENCE
• HISTORY/GEOGRAPHY
