Home Learning
Weekly home learning – expected
Each week, we ask children to practice the fundamentals of our core subjects to support their learning in class.
- Read at least four times a week
- Practise reading the phonics list for that week
- Practise number facts knowledge on Numbots (set up in Term 2)
- Practise spelling words (phonics list) being explored in class that week, through our knowledge of phonics. These are not tested. Instead, we want to see children apply these words in their writing in lessons when appropriate.
Termly home learning – optional
Each term, we will provide a menu of 3 optional projects which link to our learning for your child to choose one from and work on at home. They will have an opportunity to share their project in class in the first week back of the following term. These projects are completely optional and are offered as an opportunity to apply/develop knowledge of the subjects they are learning about and to get creative at home.
Each class will provide one possible project from each area:
- ART/D&T
- SCIENCE
- HISTORY/GEOGRAPHY
These termly optional home leering projects can be found in our ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW guides for each term here.
