Home Learning
Weekly home learning – expected
Each week, we ask children to practice the fundamentals of our core subjects to support their learning in class.
- Read at least four times a week. Please record in their reading record. Ensure your child has their reading book in school every day so we can read them during guided reading. Reading records are collected in and checked on Fridays.
- Practise number facts on Numbots
- Times Table Rockstars from term 3 onwards
- Spellings are taught over the week during the phonics sessions. Below is the spelling overview for each term for you to refer to if you would like to practise these spellings at home. The sound chart is also attached to refer to.
Termly home learning projects – optional
Each term, we will provide a menu of 3 optional projects which link to our learning for your child to choose one from and work on at home. They will have an opportunity to share their project in class in the first week back of the following term. These projects are completely optional and are offered as an opportunity to apply/develop knowledge of the subjects they are learning about and to get creative at home.
Each class will provide one possible project from each area:
- ART/D&T
- SCIENCE
- HISTORY/GEOGRAPHY
These termly optional home leering projects can be found in our ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW guides for each term here.
