Newsletter 3 – October 2017

Dear Parents
Autumn is upon us and the children’s learning is being inspired by this time of year: leaves are changing colour, Autumn poems are being written and practised ready for our Harvest Service and Autumn themed art work is everywhere.

We were delighted that a visit by our School Improvement Partner last week noted the following:

 Well set up classrooms and a purposeful learning atmosphere with children on task throughout the school. Pupils are active learners.
 The school motto was evident in all that was seen today. Staff to staff and staff to children relationships and the way people speak to each other is evidence of respectful interactions.
 Data shows that there is good learning – SATs results and pupil progress was good last year. Data shows an upward trajectory.
 Behaviour was excellent.

We have introduced our new Lockdown Policy to pupils today and carried out our first ‘non-urgent Lockdown’ practice. Children have been told that we have a fire alarm for when the building is not safe and we have Lockdown if there is something in the grounds of the school that is not safe. Please discuss Lockdown with your child.

Many thanks
Jane Bennett
