Welcome to the start of spring! The sun is beginning to shine and our beautiful grounds are starting to come alive. Hopefully with brighter, warmer weather we will be able to spend more time outside enjoying our natural environment both at home and at school. Girls in Beech class recently created a daisy chain that was 5.5m long! Children in Maple class were outside flying parachutes in the spring breeze and the vegetables patches are almost finished and can be used for planting after the Easter holidays. Many thanks go to the FBSA for raising the money to provide these wonderful raised beds, located outside Chestnut.
Friday 24th March was RED NOSE DAY and all the children showed their support by coming in to school wearing red and bringing a donation: We raised £255.39. This is a fantastic fund raising total for Comic Relief so thank you to everyone who contributed. Our School Council reps sold 120 Red Noses at £1 each and the rest was raised by donations on the day. As you will know Comic Relief works hard to support people in the UK as well as other countries around the world and we are thankful for you helping us to support them.
We have ended the term with Oak class performing brilliantly at the Dance Festival at Weston Playhouse last Wednesday. They danced, smiled, thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were fantastic role models and ambassadors for our school.
Have a wonderful and restful holiday.
Best wishes Jane Bennett
